The BIFF Competition, Awards & Judging Process

Selection and awards at the BIFF, how does it work?
Every two months, and sometimes even monthly, we host our Bavaria CAMEO Live Screening in the Marriot Hotel Frankfurt, where each screening we select and screen approximately 2-3 outstanding films. These screenings offer a unique opportunity for filmmakers to experience cinema in a communal setting and engage with other filmmakers in lively discussions. In addition to our monthly live screenings, we also have a special selection of films and screenplays known as 'Nominees.' These are films and screenplays that are invited to our annual Bavaria - CAMEO Awards Gala. This event takes place in a different host country each year, with this year's gala being held in the historic Trades Hall of Glasgow, Scotland.
 

At the Bavaria CAMEO Awards Gala, we honor the best of the best in various categories, presenting winners with the official BIFF trophy: the CAMEO Award. During our live screenings, there are no award presentations; these exclusively take place at the annual CAMEO Awards Gala. 

Attendance at the Bavaria CAMEO Live Screening & CAMEO Awards Gala

Selected films for our live screening in Frankfurt, have the opportunity to bring up to 10 guests to the event to share in the experience. As nominated film or screenplay for the gala, you will receive two complimentary tickets. For those who wish to bring additional guests to the gala, extra tickets are available for purchase.
